Mrs. Spoonover's (406) 862 - 9381

Mrs. Spoonover's has quite a collection of tea pots and serves afternoon tea where manners matter. Tea parties upon request. Mrs. Spoonover bakes fresh bread, huckleberry scones and pies, delicious croissants and huge cookies. She also bakes real turkey breasts, roast beef and ham. The soups are made from local vegetables and there is something new every day. Mrs. Spoonover won the people's choice award for BEST SOUP IN WHITEFISH. Our ice cream is mostly Montana made.
The sundaes are enormous and are piled high with chocolate covered whipped cream.
The milk shakes, and the malts are so thick the straws stand at attention!

The unique sandwiches and delicious sundaes are world-famous and have been featured on Japanese television. There is a photo story about Mrs. Spoonover's in the June 2008 issue of Arthur Frommer's Budget Traveler'.

Mrs. Spoonover's is featured in 'Portrait of Whitefish' by Laira Fonner.

Praise from Customers

'Whitefish's answer to "over the meadows and through the mountains to grandmother's house we go" is Mrs Spoonover's ice cream shop and restaurant.
In the 50's style soda shop you find a unique breakfast menu, homemade soups, sandwiches with homemade bread, salads, etc.
A sign says "The cook quits at 3 pm or she gets grumpy". However, Mrs S is never "grumpy&q. She is definitely a "people person" who quickly makes friends with not only regular local customers, but from people all of the world. Mrs Spoonover is involved with many aspects of the Whitefish community. She cares for low income seniors, children and professionals. After school many children wait at her place to be picked up by their parents.
If you want to experience the true meaning of Montana's friendly and caring atmosphere visit Mrs Spoonover's ice cream shop and restaurant at 533 Second Avenue East in Whitefish, Montana.
You will soon become a member of her fan club.'

Good Lord, here we go again, a little more government please.
First I have to let you know the blood is dripping from my lip as I write this. Call out the guard, Mrs. Spoonover's has an ice cream mural on the outside of her building.

SHE HAS AN ICE CREAM STORE!

She just went through the expense of moving her business, and this is all John Phelps has to do? Oh, wait, I see the problem now. There is a doughnut on top of the ice cream cone, maybe serving a reminder to the last spanking Mr Phelps took.
You know what? They could have painted a horse's ass on the side of the building. But then, they would still have controversy of the advertising problem. Possibly a few too many might mistake it for Mr Phelps' new office location.

I hope this news story only serves in or as Mrs. Spoonvoers's continued success. I'm sure Whitefish won't object in their share of the resort tax she generates. As a citizen of this great nation, I hope she is still flying the right flag.
